La Junta premia al IES Marqués de Comares como mejor proyecto educativo en favor de la Biodiversidad de Andalucía Occidental

El delegado de Medio Ambiente y Ordenación del Territorio, Francisco de Paula Algar, ha entregado el premio Educaves al IES Marqués de Comares como reconocimiento a la mejor experiencia educativa en favor de la Biodiversidad en el ámbito de Andalucía Occidental. El premio consiste en una estancia de dos días en un Centro de Educación Ambiental, donde desarrollarán un programa de actividades sobre educación ambiental.

Algar ha destacado la importancia del proyecto de educación medioambiental Educaves sobre la conservación de las aves y sus hábitats, encuadrado dentro del programa Aldea, promovido por las Consejerías de Medio Ambiente y Ordenación del Territorio, y de Educación.

Además, el delegado ha alabado el proyecto presentado por el IES Marqués de Comares “por impulsar la transmisión de actitudes de respeto, cuidado y disfrute de los valores medioambientales entre la comunidad educativa del municipio de Lucena, desde la información, formación y la participación activa”.

En este sentido, el responsable de Medio Ambiente ha afirmado que “uno de los motivos por los que el IES Marqués de Comares ha conseguido el premio es porque posee una circunstancia excepcional, ya que tiene un auténtico jardín botánico con especies vegetales autóctonas del municipio de Lucena”. En este curso, el Centro ha trabajado en las labores ambientales de rehabilitación del jardín, cuidándolo y manteniéndolo de manera sostenible para ser usado como hábitats de las aves urbanas.

Proyecto Educaves

El objetivo del proyecto es promover el conocimiento de las aves y sus hábitats entre el alumnado de los centros educativos, observar y medir los cambios que las aves muestran en respuesta al cambio climático, así como promover la investigación en la escuela en materia de ornitología. El IES Marqués de Comares ha realizado diversas actividades ambientales dentro del proyecto, como talleres de elaboración de cajas nido, yincana ornitológica, visitas al Centro de Recuperación de Especies Amenazas y al Parque Periurbano “Los Villares”, así como ponencias sobre el proyecto de conservación del cernícalo primilla.

A través del proyecto se pretende conectar el conocimiento de las aves y su interés medioambiental con los espacios naturales protegidos de Lucena, como la Laguna Amarga y la Laguna Dulce. Según los últimos censos del último ciclo anual de 2015, son 16 especies distintas de aves acuáticas las que se encuentran presentes en el término municipal de Lucena, entre los que se encuentran malvasías cabeciblancas, fochas morunas, porrones pardos, aguiluchos laguneros, zampullines comunies y cuellinegros, patos cucharas, fochas comunes, gallinetas comunes, porrones europeos, calamones, ánades reales y frisos.
