Juan Pérez defiende que la consulta sobre el MENA no corresponde al alcalde e indica que el PP podría haberla iniciado

El alcalde de Lucena, Juan Pérez, respondía a las declaraciones vertidas por el Partido Popular sobre el centro MENA que próximamente se ubicará en Lucena. En este sentido, indicaba que la consulta sobre el centro de Menores Extranjeros no Acompañados puede partir  de cualquier colectivo, refiriéndose a este grupo político, y sólo es necesario disponer del 7 por ciento de las firmas de la totalidad de la población y contar con el visto bueno  del pleno para poder realizarlo, recriminando al Partido Popular que no hayan iniciado la consulta que demandan y de no presentar ninguna alegación a la decisión de ubicar el centro en el Complejo Educativo de Los Santos.

El primer edil lucentino, añadía que la cuestión ha pasado por distintas comisiones informativas y se han abordado detalladamente los pasos que se han ido  dando. Pérez mostraba su indignación por las palabras de los ediles del Partido Popular y del portavoz parlamentario, José Antonio Nieto.  Además, añadió que el PP votó a favor de iniciar el estudio para la ubicación del centro en Lucena y daban luz verde para que el alcalde, iniciase los pasos necesarios para ello.

Juan Pérez también informaba de que en la reunión mantenida recientemente con la Delegada Territorial de Bienestar social se dejó claro que el cupo máximo del centro será de 35 personas.
