Fallece el ex-alcalde lucentino Miguel Sánchez González a los 87 años

El pasado  domingo,  Día de la Virgen de Araceli, fallecía a los 87 años de edad, Miguel Sánchez González, que fue el primer alcalde socialista de la democracia. Miguel Sánchez González era Profesor Mercantil e impartió  clases de matemáticas en el antiguo Instituto Laboral de Lucena. Si bien consiguió ser concejal en 1.979 por una lista independiente, fue en 1.987 consiguió la alcaldía socialista, con el apoyo de CDS. Posteriormente en 1.991 consiguió una mayoría absoluta con 13 concejales, que le fue arrebatada por una moción de censura que propició un corto mandato del popular, Miguel Ángel Sánchez Sicilia. Miguel Sánchez González volvió a revalidar como alcalde entre los años 1991 a 1995.

Miguel Sánchez fue un hombre de profundas convicciones cristianas, y participó en la vida cofrade en la Cofradía de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, de la que fue hermano mayor y manijero en varias ocasiones de la Virgen de la Soledad en su Sábado Santo. Igualmente fue  manijero de Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno  y mandó la cuadrilla de santeros de la Romería de la Virgen de Araceli en su romería  de subida al Santuario. Destacó como miembro de  la Coral Lucentina, agrupación musical a la que perteneció y compartió con su esposa, Araceli Ramírez. Fue un hombre participativo y estuvo al frente del Circulo Lucentino.

El alcalde de Lucena, Juan Pérez Guerrero ha expresado las redes sociales  las redes sociales su “más sentido y profundo pésame a la familia”. El entierro por su eterno descanso tenía lugar en la tarde de este lunes festivo lucentino en la iglesia de Santo Domingo.
