El Ayuntamiento de Lucena licita en 52.337 euros la consolidación de los siete hornos romanos de Los Tejares

El Ayuntamiento de Lucena ha publicado la licitación de la consolidación y restauración de los hornos romanos del yacimiento de Los Tejares como paso previo a la apertura de este enclave arqueológico como recursos turístico de la ciudad.

Los trabajos a acometer con este proyecto pretenden dar una solución estable a largo plazo para la conservación de la batería de siete hornos romanos del alfar romano de Los Tejares, únicos en Hispania por su conservación, pero muy débiles tanto por su material empleado durante su construcción y reparación en los siglos I y II d. C, así como por los agentes naturales y antrópicos propios del paso del tiempo.

Según describe el pliego técnico publicado por la Concejalía de Patrimonio Histórico-Artístico, la actuación consiste en la limpieza y eliminación de tierras por acumulación en la caja de los hornos, intervenciones de restauración y consolidación de los siete hornos, paredes, perfiles y otras estructuras complementarias y la renovación de red de drenaje de la cota más baja del complejo.

El alfar romano de Los Tejares, localizado sobre una parcela de 14.775 metros cuadrados de propiedad municipal, es una de las 22 factorías documentadas que se instalaron en el actual término municipal de Lucena durante la presencia de la civilización romana en la Península desde el siglo II a.C y especialmente durante los siglos I y II d.C.

Este proyecto parte con un presupuesto de licitación de 52.337 euros con cargo a la convocatoria de subvenciones para la protección y conservación de bienes muebles e inmuebles del patrimonio histórico-artístico municipal de la Diputación de Córdoba. Los trabajos parten con un plazo de ejecución de dos meses.

Excavado en 1996 tras su hallazgo durante las obras de la estación depuradora de Lucena junto a la vía de servicio de la A-318 en dirección Puente Genil, este yacimiento arqueológico es uno de los mejores hornos romanos excavados y conservados en toda Hispania. Su estudio ha permitido explicar la forma de vida de este tipo de factorías, estratégicas en el mundo romano, no solo para la conservación de productos alimenticios (ánforas, dolia o vajilla de mesa y cocina), sino también para el sector constructivo y comercial.

Las empresas interesadas en participar en esta contratación disponen hasta el 23 de junio para presentar sus ofertas.
