El alcalde Juan Pérez recibe en Torremolinos el reconocimiento de la Federación de Comunidades Judías de España

El Ayuntamiento de Lucena ha resultado galardonado en la primera edición del Premio Jánuca de Andalucía, cuyo acto público tuvo lugar en Torremolinos con la presencia de una delegación lucentina, presidida por el alcalde, Juan Pérez.

Bajo la organización de la Federación de Comunidades Judías de España, el Ayuntamiento de Torremolinos y la comunidad judía de la localidad malagueña, la entrega de los premios coincidió con la festividad de la Jánuca 2017 por lo que ofreció el tradicional encendido de la lámpara januquiá de 9 brazos y la lectura del origen de esta celebración, así como un recital musical a manos de un cuarteto de cuerda y un concierto de la Joven Orquesta Provincial de Málaga, durante una cita que celebra el año 5.778 del calendario judío.

Tras recoger el premio, Juan Pérez tuvo palabras para subrayar el origen de Lucena, “una ciudad fundada por judíos ejemplo de convivencia de las tres culturas” que se caracteriza por tener “la necrópolis judía excavada más grande de Europa”. Durante su discurso, el alcalde recordó que “Lucena se adentra en el año 2018 para conmemorar el 400 aniversario de su nombramiento como ciudad y lo hace de la mano de un dinamismo económico marcado por los sectores de la madera, el frío industrial y la creatividad”. Acompañando a Juan Pérez, la delegación lucentina estuvo formada por los integrantes de la mesa técnica del proyecto ‘Lucena judía’: los concejales Manuel Lara y Francico Huertas, Francisco López Salamanca, Emilia Gálvez, Fran Carrasco, Daniel Botella y José Antonio García.

El premio Jánuca de Andalucía ha sido creado para el reconocimiento de los actores sociales que promueven el intercambio cultural. Junto al ayuntamiento lucentino, esta primera edición también galardonó al alcalde de Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, al Cónsul General del Reino de Marruecos en Algeciras, Cádiz y Málaga, Abdelfatah Cebbar, el ministro de Residentes Extranjeros y de Migración del Reino de Marruecos, Abdelkrim Benatiq, presidente de la Asociación Cultural Mem Guimel de Melilla, Mordejai Guahnich, al senador Joaquín Luis Ramírez y la presidenta de la Junta de Andalucía, Susana Díaz Pacheco. Por su parte, el ciudadano de Torremolinos Eduardo Aguilera Romero recibió un reconocimiento a título póstumo por su labor a favor de la multiculturalidad del municipio.
