El Ayuntamiento de Lucena homenajea a la doctora Felisa Reyes Ortega debido a su gran trayectoria profesional

La concejal de igualdad, Mª del Mar Morales, ha señalado que el principal objetivo es visibilizar el gran papel de las mujeres en la sociedad

El Ayuntamiento de Lucena y el Consejo Local de la Mujer han homenajeado a la doctora Felisa Reyes Ortega, debido a su gran trayectoria profesional. En el acto, que tuvo lugar en el Palacio Erisana, colaboraron diferentes entidades como la Asociación cultural Naufragio y la Compañía de Danza de Mª Pilar López.

La profesora, que actualmente trabaja en la Universidad de Granada, nació en el seno de una familia gitana, compuesta por 6 hermanos en total y todos universitarios. Tiene un hermano ingeniero areonáutico, una hermana abogada, un hermano farmacéutico, una hermana odontóloga y el más pequeño es estudiante universitario del grado en ingeniería aeroespacial.

Felisa Reyes Ortega cuenta con un gran recorrido profesional. Su andadura comenzó cuando se doctoró en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid en el programa de doctorado de Química Orgánica en el año 2013, obteniendo la calificación de Cum Laude con Mención Internacional. Además, ha publicado más de 20 artículos científicos en revistas de alto impacto, 2 capítulos de libro y 2 patentes internacionales (WO2014076336A1 and WO20140940585A1), en diferentes campos científicos (polímeros, hidrogeles y nanopartículas como sistemas liberadores de fármacos, bioconjugados polímero-fármaco y polímero-proteína para su aplicación en regeneración tisular, preparación de suspensiones magnéticas para el diagnóstico y tratamiento del cáncer).

En este sentido, la concejal de igualdad, Mª del Mar Morales, ha indicado que “Felisa es la primera mujer gitana doctora en Ciencias Naturales y Experimentales en España”. Además, pertenece a distintas sociedades científicas: La Real Sociedad de Química Española (desde hace más de 5 años), al Grupo Especializado de Polímeros (5 años) y al Centro de Nanomedicina de Australia (desde hace 6 años). Actúa también como Experto Externo para evaluación de proyectos científico-tecnológicos de la Comisión Europea.
