Por segundo año consecutivo el ayuntamiento colabora con el programa de acogimiento familiar de AVAS

La delegación municipal de Servicios sociales se suma por segundo año consecutivo al programa de acogimiento familiar de la Asociación de Voluntarios de Acción Social, AVAS, al objeto de hacer visible el ejemplo de generosidad y compromiso que desarrolla este colectivo procurando una familia a niños y niñas que, por diferentes circunstancias, tienen que vivir lejos de sus familias biológicas.

Teresa Alonso, responsable del área de Servicios Sociales ha puesto el acento en la importancia de solicitar información para poder participar de un programa que está ayudando, año tras año, a un importante número de menores en toda la provincia.

La representante de AVAS, entidad con sede en Puente Genil y Córdoba, Araceli Medina ha significado que el objetivo, día a día, es encontrar familias para niños que van a parar a centros de protección o que han tenido que abandonar su hogar de manera repentina ante una situación de emergencia.

Medina ha reconocido, por el testimonio de las familias de acogida, que para estas el acogimiento familiar supone un regalo. En este sentido ha aprovechado la oportunidad para agradecer su generosidad y al mismo tiempo para hacer un llamamiento en la búsqueda de nuevas familias que quieran sumarse a este proyecto.

Desde AVAS se sigue trabajando en la campaña “Yo quiero querer” puesta en marcha en septiembre de 2018 y que pretende captar la atención de familias que quieran vivir la experiencia de acoger a un menor. En la actualidad AVAS atiende a alrededor de 240 niños en toda la provincia y cuenta con la colaboración de 180 familias.

Manuel  Arjona, miembro de una familia de acogida lucentina ha ofrecido su testimonio en torno a la experiencia de poder acoger en su hogar a un menor que lo único que necesita es cariño y un ambiente de unidad familiar del que ha carecido y ha valorado esta situación como satisfactoria y repleta de sentimientos, especialmente cuando el menor que convive con ellos ofrece sus abrazos y sus besos y demuestra su desarrollo personal.
