Desde las seis y media de la tarde de este sábado, 4 de mayo, el Paseo de Rojas era un hervidero de cestas y ramos de flores, de mujeres ataviadas con el traje típico de lucentina, otras de flamenca y los caballeros con traje o vestidos para la ocasión para ir con flores a María.
La corte de damas de honor y la Aracelitana mayor, en un lugar cercano al inicio de la ofrenda llegaron este año algo más temprano de lo habitual a la parroquia de San Mateo y tras realizar su ofrenda a las plantas mismas de la Virgen, fueron recibiendo los ramos y las cestas de flores que las cofradías, asociaciones, colegios, colectivos, clubes deportivos y personas de a pie llevaban para María en su dulce advocación de Araceli.
Cerraba la comitiva la corporación municipal y la banda de música de Lucena en una jornada donde las aceras quedaban vacías porque la calle de El Peso era un auténtico río humano desbordante que llevaba su amor en forma de flor a las plantas de la Patrona de Lucena y del Campo Andaluz.
