Lucena pasa el primer corte para convertirse en Ciudad de la Música por la Unesco

Lucena superaba por primera vez el pasado fin de semana en Valladolid el primer corte para convertirse en Ciudad de la Música por la Unesco. Competirá en París con Lliria, Orihuela y Valladolid, y el próximo mes de octubre conoceremos a las ciudades elegidas. La Unesco puede designar un máximo de dos localidades de un mismo país,  aunque también la nominación podría quedar desierta.

El alcalde de Lucena, Juan Pérez, explicaba que si Lucena consigue este hito, sería la segunda ciudad española denominada Creativa de la Música por la Unesco, tras Sevilla. Entre las candidatas, Lliria también concurre en la modalidad musical, Orihuela en Literatura y Valladolid en Cine.

El concejal delegado de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Lucena, Manuel Lara Cantizani, explicaba que este proyecto ha llevado a Lucena a ser conocida a nivel internacional. Además, destacaba las cualidades por las que la ciudad puede optar a este importante reconocimiento como la armonía y la tolerancia, la pasión por el tambor y la Semana Santa, la educación, la juventud y la solidaridad entre otros.

Actualmente existen  un total de 180 ciudades creativas  en todo el mundo, de las que 31 son ciudades creativas de la Música por la Unesco.
