Los Reyes de España aceptan los títulos de Hermano Mayor Honorífico y Camarera de Honor de la Hermandad del Rocío de Lucena

La Casa Real,  ha emitido un comunicado a la Hermandad del Rocío de Lucena informando de que el Rey Felipe VI ha aceptado el nombramiento de Hermano Mayor Honorario, así como la aprobación de la Reina Letizia, de aceptar el cargo de Camarera de Honor de la  Hermandad lucentina.

En Junta Ordinaria de Cabildo de Hermanos, celebrada el 19 de enero de 2019, fue aprobada la propuesta de solicitar a sus Majestades que ocuparan los cargos de Hermano Mayor Honorario y Camarera de Honor, solicitud que fue enviada a la Casa Real el 18 de octubre de 2019. Tras la comunicación de aceptación, fechada a 9 de abril del presente año, la Hermandad del Rocío de Lucena realizará todos los trámites pertinentes para que la Casa Real acepte otorgar el título de Real a esta hermandad lucentina.

La hermandad de Nuestra Señora del Rocío de Lucena fue fundada el día 2 de Junio de 1970, y fueron aprobados sus Estatutos el 17 de Marzo de 1972 por el Obispo de Córdoba Monseñor Girarda, quedando establecida Canónicamente en la Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Carmen. En este mismo año la hermandad matriz de Almonte aprobó como hermandad filial a la hermandad de Lucena otorgándole el numero 41 e hizo su presentación en la romería del mismo año. Está amadrinada por la Hermandad del Rocío de Barcelona, que hizo su primera visita a Lucena el día 17 de Mayo del 1972.

La Hermandad lucentina es una de las más antiguas de la provincia,  cuenta con más de 600 hermanos y su actual presidente es Juan Luna.
