Las hectáreas de olivar ecológico suponen en la provincia de Córdoba un 8 por ciento del total

Una jornada, celebrada en el salón de plenos del Ayuntamiento de Lucena, y organizada por el Ayuntamiento de Lucena y la delegación provincial de Agricultura servía para promover la cultura ecológica del olivar entre los agricultores de la zona, con el objetivo de incentivar este tipo de cultivo, según el concejal delegado de Agricultura, del Ayuntamiento de Lucena, Lucas Gómez.

El delegado provincial de Agricultura, Francisco Zurera explicaba que la agricultura ecológica supone una facturación de 88.000 millones de euros en todo el mundo, algo que se puede duplicar en los próximos años. Además, todo este producto sale adelante con un plus económico importante. De hecho el kilo de aceite Virgen Extra tiene un precio de mercado de 3,50 euros y el ecológico asciende a 6 euros. En Córdoba, según Zurera, existen 300.000 ha. de olivar de las que aproximadamente 26.000 se dedican al cultivo ecológico, lo que supone un 8 por ciento del total.

Según Zurera en nuestra provincia existen 38 almazaras inscritas en esta campaña para la aceituna ecológica, y existe producción de este tipo de aceite en la Subbética y en Lucena, con premios a nivel mundial. Según el representante de la Junta en Córdoba, la PAC cada vez será más verde, lo que significa que las producciones ecológicas serán cada vez más necesarias para optar a las ayudas.

En la jornada intervinieron el Jefe del Servicio de agricultura, Pablo Soto y el Técnico de la Consejería, José Luis Sánchez, además de los empresarios Pepe Aguilera y Oligario Matilla.
