La familia de Manuel Osuna Ruiz dona una importante colección de libros y material audiovisual a la Biblioteca de Lucena

Manuel Osuna Ruiz fallecía el pasado 29 de marzo a los 75 años de edad a consecuencia de  Covid-19. Se convertía en la tercera víctima por esta pandemia en Lucena. A raíz de esta noticia conocimos un poco más la figura de Manuel Osuna, un lucentino, militante socialista de larga trayectoria y que había  sido director de los Museo Arqueológicos de Cuenca y Ciudad Real y delegado de Educación y Cultura de la ciudad conquense. En sus últimos años de vida regresó a Lucena, donde residía  junto a su mujer.

Su legado literario y enciclopédico junto con un completo material audiovisual ha sido donado por su familia a la Biblioteca lucentina y también a las ciudades en las que ha desarrollado su labor profesional como Cuenca, Ciudad Real o Segovia. La concejal delegada de Cultura, Mamen Beato, agradecía esta donación que servirá, dijo,  para enriquecer el contenido de la Biblioteca Pública Municipal.

La directora  de la Biblioteca de Lucena, María Teresa Ferrer, repasaba la trayectoria profesional de Manuel Osuna Ruiz, destacando el material de gran calidad que llegará a los fondos municipales, como  la Enciclopedia Británica y otros contenidos bibliográficos de gran interés para la ciudadanía general.

Manuel Osuna fue también autor de los libros  “Museo de Cuenca: secciones de arqueología y bellas artes”, “Valeria Romana 1: memoria de los trabajos arqueológicos efectuados desde 1974 a 1976” y  “Un alfar de cerámicas populares del s. XVII en Cuenca”. Las campanas de la Torre de Mangana repicaron en señal de duelo por el fallecimiento del arqueólogo lucentino.
