El PP denuncia el abandono y la dejadez de la Basílica Visigótica de Coracho

El Grupo Municipal del Partido Popular de Lucena, encabezado por su Portavoz y candidato a la Alcaldía, Paco Huertas, visitaba la Basílica de Coracho, instalada en el Polígono Industrial “La Viñuela”.

Esta importante Basílica, según los populares,  fue descubierta en el año 2003 durante la construcción de un tramo de la Autovía A-45 en el conocido Paraje Cortijo Coracho para después se trasladada al Polígono Industria. La inauguración de este llamado Centro de Interpretación se produjo en octubre de 2008 y según declaraciones de los dirigentes del PSOE este hallazgo sería “una de las grandes apuestas patrimoniales y de turismo de la ciudad de Lucena”  y que en aquel momento supuso una inversión del erario público de más de 270.000 euros.

Esta Basílica está considerada como una de las primeras “Constantinianas de Hispania”, uno de los pilares básicos para el conocimiento y la difusión del origen Cristiano de la Península Ibérica. Pues bien, la situación actual es de abandono y dejadez, con gran cantidad de basura, restos de obras, vegetación descontrolada y un recinto que estaba llamado a ser un Centro de Interpretación y un reclamo turístico se encuentra totalmente cerrado al público.

Desde el Partido Popular, ha declarado Paco Huertas, exigimos una puesta en valor de este activo patrimonial y una limpieza, adecentamiento y cuidado de este entorno.  Además exigimos una programación de visitas enmarcadas dentro de las rutas que se realizan desde este Ayuntamiento por los distintos activos turísticos con los que cuenta la ciudad. El Partido Popular entiende que fue un error trasladar este importante hallazgo a un Polígono Industrial, pero mayor error es haberlo abandonado.
