El deportista local Cristóbal García es convocado para representar a España en el Campeonato del Mundo de Duatlón

Entre el 5 y el 14 de Julio de 2018 se celebrará en la isla de Fyn, Dinamarca, el Campeonato del Mundo de Multideporte que organiza la Federación Internacional de Triatlón. En el campeonato participarán los mejores atletas del mundo en las especialidades de duatlón, triatlón, triatlón cross, acuatlón y acuabike.

La Federación Española de Triatlón ha hecho público la lista de triatletas españoles que participarán en las distintas especialidades que se convocan representando a España y, entre ellos, se encuentra el triatleta del Montilla-Córdoba Triatlón Cristóbal García Guillén, que participará en la especialidad de Duatlón en la categoría élite masculina junto a Emilio Antonio Martín, también de la Federación Andaluza de Triatlón.

El deportista de Lucena ha sido este año Campeón de Andalucía de Duatlón, título que consiguió en Chiclana el pasado 15 de Abril y tercero en el Campeonato de España de Duatlón celebrado en Avilés una semana antes. Con esta será su tercera participación en un mundial, ya que anteriormente estuvo en los Campeonatos del Mundo de Duatlón en los años 2014 en Pontevedra (20º) y 2016 en Avilés (17º).
