El Ayuntamiento da luz verde al primer cementerio musulmán de la provincia

El Ayuntamiento de Lucena ha dado luz verde al cementerio musulmán, el primero que se ubicará en la provincia, fuera de la capital,  y que ofrecerá servicio a  la toda la comarca.

Tras tres años de trabajo el pueblo musulmán cuenta con un espacio diferenciado en  el cementerio de San Jorge  dedicado a las personas de esta religión. Este tema surgió a propuesta del responsable de los inmigrantes musulmanes, Hamid Abqari,  al alcalde de Lucena, Juan Pérez, con motivo de la visita de la  familia de Hamza, el niño de origen marroquí residente en Lucena que murió ahogado en el parque Aquasierra de Villafranca de Córdoba en una excursión con sus compañeros del Instituto Miguel de Cervantes hace tres años.

Abqari ha mostrado su satisfacción por esta noticia que el alcalde, Juan Pérez, le ha trasladado  en primera persona. Y ha  señalado que está muy agradecido por la sensibilidad del primer edil que ha mostrado su interés por este proyecto.

Abqari ha añadido que ahora Lucena sí es la ciudad de las tres culturas, porque cuenta con un cementerio musulmán, otro judío y otros dos cristianos, y esto supone una apertura clara a la integración de los inmigrantes.

El cementerio musulmán, que llevará el nombre de “Essbil”, que significa “El destino”,   contará con un recinto y   puerta independiente dentro  del campo santo. Este proyecto ha contado, según Abqari,  con el visto bueno de la Junta de Gobierno Local y se ubicará en la zona del Cementerio de San Jorge junto al edificio actual de  preparación de fallecidos.

Hay que tener en cuenta que Lucena cuenta en la actualidad con unos 1.400 vecinos musulmanes, fundamentalmente de origen marroquí, pero también procedentes de otros países islámicos como Argelia o Pakistán, muchos de los cuales llevan ya bastantes años residiendo en la ciudad. Precisamente Hamid Abqari lleva 30 años en nuestra ciudad y hace tres falleció en esta ciudad  el pionero de los inmigrantes marroquíes de Lucena, Ahmed Dardabi.

El nuevo cementerio musulmán podría dar servicio a las personas de esta religión que viven en el resto de la comarca, que son más  de 2.000, implantadas principalmente en poblaciones como Priego de Córdoba, Cabra, Rute, Aguilar de la Frontera, Montilla o Puente Genil.
