Diabetes Lucena presentará durante sus segundas jornadas informativas la nueva Escuela de Pacientes

La asociación Diabetes Lucena y la Delegación de Servicios Sociales y Salud del Ayuntamiento de Lucena celebrarán esta semana las segundas Jornadas sobre Diabetes para profundizar en el conocimiento de los tratamientos y el manejo de esta enfermedad  en el día a día de los pacientes y sus familiares.

El programa de la asociación Diabetes Lucena incluye, como actividad previa a las jornadas, la instalación de una mesa informativa el jueves 16 de mayo en la Plaza Nueva –en horario de mañana y tarde, de 11 a 13 horas y de 18.30 a 20.30 horas– para ofrecer información sobre las actividades del propio colectivo, así como hacer controles glucémicos a quienes estén interesados o preocupados por sus niveles de glucosa en sangre.

La Casa de los Mora recogerá el testigo el sábado 18 de mayo con unas jornadas que incluyen tres conferencias informativas. La primera de ellas correrá a cargo de la doctora Ana Barrera Martín y versará sobre las diabetes tipo 1, a la que seguirá la intervención de la enfermera Antonia María Lucena Mengual sobre las diabetes tipo 2 y cómo se trabaja con estos pacientes desde el propio centro de salud de Lucena. Lo explicaba la concejal delegada de Servicios Sociales, Teresa Alonso.

Por último, la formadora de la Escuela Andaluza de Salud Pública Fabiola Rey llevará a cabo la presentación del Aula de Diabetes de la Escuela de Pacientes de Lucena, un nuevo proyecto solicitado por la asociación lucentina a la entidad autonómica que nace en las próximas semanas como un taller en el que, en sesiones periódicas, las personas enfermas de diabetes, de diferentes edades, podrán compartir sus conocimientos y dudas acerca de esta enfermedad, según lo explicaba la presidenta de  Diabetes Lucena, María del Mar Reyes.

Reyes apuntaba que  la creación de la Escuela de Pacientes de Diabetes en Lucena representa “un hito importante para este colectivo cada vez más numeroso”. Estas tres conferencias en la Casa de los Mora tendrán lugar entre las 10 de la mañana y la 1 de la tarde durante una jornada formativa que incluye también un desayuno saludable.
