Cristóbal García se proclama campeón de Andalucía de Duatlón 2018

La localidad gaditana de Chiclana de la Frontera fue un magnífico escenario para la celebración del Campeonato de Andalucía de Duatlón sobre distancia sprint; prueba que constaba de 5 kilómetros de carrera a pie, 20 kilómetros en bicicleta y otros 2,5 kilómetros de carrera a pie.

Esta prueba del circuito andaluz de duatlón tenía todos los ingredientes suficientes para gozar de un altísimo nivel competitivo en la 25ª edición de este histórico duatlón.

A las 9 horas daba comienzo la prueba masculina donde se impuso el lucentino Cristóbal García Guillén (Montilla-Córdoba Triatlón) que se proclamó campeón andaluz con una marca de 53 minutos y 19 segundos. Tan solo 6 segundos después entraba Cristóbal Valenzuela (CD Triclub BabySchool) y completaba el podio masculino Sergio Fernández (Montilla-Córdoba Triatlón).

El deportista de Lucena certificó su campeonato en el parcial ciclista en el que conseguía los 6 segundos de ventaja que le diferenciaban de Valenzuela que marcó exactamente los mismos parciales que el vencedor de la prueba. Para muestra del gran e igualado nivel de este campeonato andaluz, los diez primeros clasificados se decidieron en 13 segundos de diferencia.

Con este campeonato regional, Cristóbal García completa un mes de abril espectacular sumando al título andaluz, un subcampeonato de España por equipos en la Primera División y una medalla de bronce, a nivel individual, en la categoría élite del Campeonato de España de Duatlón.
