El encuentro, que cerró la décimo sexta jornada de liga, tuvo un comienzo titubeante en cuanto a juego con media hora bastante insulsa. Sin embargo, en el tramo final del primer periodo el Ciudad de Lucena comenzó a llegar con peligro hasta que consiguió adelantarse con un golazo de Jairo Morillas.
Con ventaja en el marcador, el equipo lucentino arrancó la segunda parte con la firme intención de buscar el gol de la tranquilidad. Un segundo tanto que podría haber llegado desde el punto de penalti si el árbitro no hubiese sacado fuera de área una falta cometida sobre Adri Moyano.
No obstante, unos minutos después, el Ciudad de Lucena conseguiría un segundo gol a balón parado; en un lanzamiento de esquina, Nacho Fernández la pone en el primer palo para el remate de cabeza de David Agudo. Cero a dos en el marcador, y media hora por delante para completar un segundo periodo bastante bueno del conjunto que dirige Antonio Jesús Cobos.
La escuadra lucentina no se conformaba con ese resultado y siguió atacando a un rival prácticamente derrotado en ese momento de partido. Un resultado que incluso se antoja corto teniendo en cuenta las numerosas ocasiones que tuvo el equipo de Lucena, con sendos remates muy ajustados de Nacho Fernández y Hugo, además de dos disparos al palo de Sergio Rivera y de nuevo, de Hugo Fuentes.
En definitiva, triunfo sin paliativos del Ciudad de Lucena que le permite liderar en solitario el Grupo X de Tercera RFEF a falta de una jornada para el ecuador de la competición. La próxima jornada para el conjunto lucentino será ya el 12 de enero de 2025, recibiendo en casa, en un interesante derbi provincial, al CD Pozoblanco.
