Abre sus puertas el Colegio Internacional de la Subbética para afrontar su primer curso escolar

Según explicaba su directora, Pilar Montes, se trata de un colegio americano, enteramente en inglés, para las etapas educativas desde Preschool (Infantil) hasta High School (Bachillerato). Centrado en la pedagogía Montessori y con un amplio abanico de actividades entre las que incluye las nuevas tecnologías, robótica, artes y medio ambiente.

Al ser un centro de Estados Unidos, el idioma principal es el inglés, puesto que para alcanzar la titulación de High School los alumnos deberán demostrar fluidez en dicho idioma. Para ello el profesorado es nativo o con nivel y experiencia demostrada en dicho idioma bajo la supervisión de la Acreditadora NEASC (New EnglandAssociationof School and Colleges).

Las instalaciones, situadas en el Cerrillo de la Alegría de Lucena (http://colegiosubbetica.es/), son amplias con espacios abiertos, favoreciendo la libertad y la autonomía de los alumnos. Comprendiendo zonas de trabajo, áreas de lectura, aulas de nuevas tecnologías, un enorme gimnasio y un patio con ambiente natural con huerto ecológico.

Según Montes, el centro ha  obtenido  su número de autorización como Centro Docente de Estados Unidos, tras 14 meses de trámites con la Junta de Andalucía, y comienza su actividad en el próximo curso escolar 2019-2020 en Lucena, para alumnos de infantil y primaria.

Se trata del primer centro de estas características en toda la comarca, aunque no el primero en la provincia de Córdoba, ya que en la capital existe uno de iguales características que cuenta ya con lista de espera. Estos estudios son perfectamente homologables con el sistema educativo español, pudiéndose incorporar los alumnos en un sentido u otro en cualquier momento de la etapa educativa.

La directora del centro Pilar Montes Luna destacaba que comienzan con mucha ilusión un largo camino en el que demostrarán el éxito que esta pedagogía está teniendo hoy y que otra educación es posible en nuestra comarca. En el acto de inauguración estuvo presente el alcalde de Lucena y la concejal delegada de Educación, Juan Pérez y Teresa Alonso, así como de la delegada provincial de Justicia, Purificación Joyera y el diputado de Vox por Córdoba, José Ramírez.
