En la ya casi noche del viernes 3 de mayo, festividad de la Cruz, se daba el pistoletazo de salida a las Fiestas Aracelitanas 2024 con el encendido del alumbrado de fiestas y posterior paseíllo hasta San Mateo con los acordes de la Banda de Música de Lucena para el acto de la proclamación de la Aracelitana Mayor y su corte de damas de honor que entraban a la parroquia bajo los sones de la marcha de infantes, como es tradicional, año tras año.
Tras la proclamación de la Aracelitana Mayor, María Eugenia Jiménez Ramírez, tuvo lugar el inicio del acto del pregón a cargo del lucentino José Francisco Beato Fernández que fue precedido por la presentación a cargo de su hija, Araceli Beato Beato.
Así iniciamos un intensísimo fin de semana que continuará con la ofrenda floral la tarde del sábado 4 de mayo así como la función religiosa con la misa del campo andaluz el día 5 de mayo a las 12 del mediodía para culminar con la gloriosa y triunfal procesión de nuestra excelsa patrona a las ocho de la tarde del domingo, Día de la Virgen y día de la madre.
