El PP pide la inclusión de Lucena en la Red Mundial de Ciudades Amigables con las Personas Mayores

El Partido Popular presentará una moción en el pleno de agosto,que se celebrará el próximo viernes a partir de la una de la tarde en el Palacio Erisana, la inclusión de la ciudad en la Red Mundial de Ciudades y Comunidades Amigables con las Personas Mayores.

Esta red  fue promovida por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) en 2010 como respuesta al rápido envejecimiento de la población y con el objetivo de conectar ciudades, comunidades y organizaciones en todo el mundo con la visión común de hacer de su entorno un lugar mejor donde envejecer dignamente y con calidad.

Se trata de una iniciativa centrada en la acción local, que aborda de manera integral los aspectos que afectan al día a día de pueblos y ciudades y lo hace promoviendo la participación de las personas mayores, teniendo en cuenta sus necesidades, opiniones y propuestas en el proceso de análisis y mejora de la localidad en diversos ámbitos, con el fin último de promover un envejecimiento saludable y activo.

La misión de la Red, según los populares, es estimular y favorecer que las ciudades y comunidades de todo el mundo sean cada vez más amigables con las personas mayores. Lo hacen tratando de:

  • inspirar el cambio, mostrando lo que se puede hacer y cómo se puede hacer;
  • conectar ciudades y comunidades en todo el mundo para facilitar el intercambio de información, conocimiento y experiencia; y
  • apoyar a las ciudades y comunidades para encontrar soluciones innovadoras y basadas en la evidencia.

Formar parte de la Red, añaden,  no es una acreditación de ser una localidad amigable con las personas mayores, sino que refleja el compromiso de un municipio de escuchar las necesidades de su población de mayor edad, evaluar y hacer seguimiento de su amigabilidad y trabajar en colaboración con las personas mayores y en todos los ámbitos para crear entornos físicos y sociales amigables con el envejecimiento. Formar parte de la Red también supone un compromiso con la metodología propuesta por la OMS, y compartir experiencias, logros y lecciones aprendidas con otras ciudades y pueblos a través de la plataforma.

La Red Mundial de Ciudades y Comunidades Amigables con las Personas Mayores forma parte de la estrategia de la OMS para la década del Envejecimiento Saludable (2021-2030), en el marco de la Agenda 2030 y los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible.

Ciudades como Cádiz, Córdoba, Pozoblanco, Jerez de la Frontera, Utrera, Sevilla, Marbella o Almería entre otras ya pertenecen a esta Red, con resultados muy satisfactorios y están consiguiendo un verdadero compromiso con el envejecimiento, con políticas, servicios y estructuras relacionadas con su entorno físico y social el diseño y la organización para apoyar y permitir a las personas mayores vivir dignamente, disfrutar de una buena salud y continuar participando en la sociedad de manera plena y activa.

En este sentido, el PP instará al pleno a solicitar al Ministerio de Derechos Sociales la adhesión de la ciudad de Lucena a la Red de Ciudades y Comunidades Amigables de las personas mayores, y el compromiso del Ayuntamiento de Lucena en promover la participación de las personas mayores en dicho proyecto que se desarrolla en cuatro fases.
