El Ayuntamiento prorroga el servicio de recogida de animales por un importe de 68.000 euros

El ayuntamiento de Lucena ha prorrogado por dos años con opción de prórroga por otros dos años más el servicio de recogida de animales por un importe de 68.000 euros más iva.

El concejal delegado de agricultura, Lucas Gómez ha destacado que la empresa Recogida de Animales José Requerey cumple en sus instalaciones con todos los parámetros exigibles de calidad y sanidad animal, desarrolla campañas de adopción y esterilización y el programa CES, de captura, esterilización y suelta de gatos, además según Gómez en virtud del contrato firmado el consistorio es pionero en sacrificio cero de animales.

El responsable de prestar este servicio, José Requerey ha informado que la media de perros recogidos en el periodo de un mes puede oscilar entre 30 o 40, ha valorado muy positivamente los resultados obtenidos con la puesta en práctica del programa CES gracias a la colaboración de grupos de voluntarios y colectivos y ha significado que también se ocupan de la recogida de cadáveres, que el trámite para la retirada de animales de la vía pública tiene que pasar por la policía local y que la campaña de esterilización de gatos suele desarrollarse durante el último trimestre del año.

Requerey ha insistido en que su empresa fomenta y premia la adopción de animales y que la mayoría de perros adoptados viajan a Inglaterra, Italia, Francia y Holanda. La empresa adjudicataria viene recogiendo entre 200 y 300 perros aproximadamente al año y entre 1 y 2 gatos al día durante la campaña de esterilización.
