En las postrimerías del mes de julio, en el castizo, auténtico, lucentinísimo y célebre barrio de Santiago se celebran sus fiestas grandes. Un fin de semana que ya arranca desde el jueves y se alarga hasta bien entrada la madrugada del sábado donde el barrio bulle de gentío, buen ambiente, color y calor en su llanete y calles aledañas y, todo esto, tiene su culmen con la salida del titular de la Parroquia, del patrón del barrio, del apóstol Santiago a lomos de su corcel blanco aunque con la iconografía, otro año más, incompleta, muchos añoramos la estampa de Santiago tal y como se narra en la batalla de Clavijo y que hasta no hace muchos años, salía tal cual a las calles de su barrio.
La procesión se iniciaba a eso de las nueve y media de la noche con la tradicional salida, siempre dificultosa de la parroquia Jacobina y fue elevado al hombro de un tirón. Santería de verano con relumbrón, donde se dan cita muchos santeros a disfrutar de cuadrillas que suelen mezclar la veteranía con la juventud y con un gran ambiente siempre alrededor del paso de Santiago. Los sones a la procesión corrieron a cargo de la Agrupación Musical del Stmo. Cristo de la Humillación y, el calor, incluso en la noche, no quiso tampoco faltar a su cita con el apóstol de las conchas peregrinas.
