En el sábado más cercano a la festividad de Nuestra Señora del Valle, la titular mariana que da nombre a su Iglesia en el altozano de Lucena, antaño conocido como de Jesús Abandonado, salía las calles de su barrio inaugurando el ciclo de procesiones de gloria que da clausura a los tiempos de la canícula lucentina.
Los capirotes celestes y las túnicas blancas de sus santeros se abrieron paso en la ya postrimera tarde del primer sábado de septiembre y la bella imagen de la Virgen con el Niño en sus brazos coronada por argéntea plata y revestida de ráfagas con la media luna a sus pies volvía, como cada año, en las cercanías de la feria que lleva su nombre, a llenar de su gracia las calles de su feligresía.
