La Comunidad Valenciana se ha proclamado, recientemente, Campeona de España de Atletismo por Comunidades Autónomas para personas con discapacidad, en el campeonato nacional disputado en las pistas de la Fuente de la Niña en Guadalajara.
Este Campeonato de España de Atletismo Adaptado contó con la participación de un centenar de atletas masculinos y femeninos con discapacidad física y parálisis cerebral y daño cerebral adquirido, quienes compitieron en pruebas de velocidad, resistencia, salto, lanzamiento de peso, disco y jabalina, tanto a pie como en silla de ruedas. La victoria general en dicho campeonato fue para la Comunidad Valenciana, seguida de Andalucía, que fue segunda, y Extremadura, tercera.
Por su parte, la atleta lucentina Mari Carmen Pino Servián, como integrante de la selección de la Federación Andaluza de Deportes para Personas con Parálisis Cerebral (FADPC), ha conseguido la marca mínima en la prueba de lanzamiento de peso para el próximo Campeonato Absoluto de España por Clubes.
