El pasado fin de semana se ha celebrado en Lucena y Cabra, una nueva edición del Campeonato de Andalucía de Baloncesto de Selecciones Provinciales A8 en categoría Cadete Masculino, donde han estado representadas las ocho provincias andaluzas.
En Lucena, la competición se concentró en el Pabellón de Deportes Antonio Ruiz-Canela con buena afluencia de público en tres jornadas espectaculares de baloncesto. En el pabellón lucentino se decidieron las medallas con la disputa de los encuentros por el 3º y 4º puesto y la gran final.
El duelo para conseguir la medalla de bronce se lo disputaron las selecciones de Almería y Granada llevándose, finalmente, la medalla al cuello el conjunto nazarí (66-75). Por su parte, el título andaluz se lo disputaron Málaga y Sevilla siendo los malagueños los que se impusieron por 92 a 79 en un partido de gran nivel de juego.
Por su parte, la Selección Cordobesa de los lucentinos Igor Da Silva y Manuel Figueredo no tuvieron un papel relevante en este Campeonato de Andalucía quedando en un pobre penúltimo puesto después de sendas derrotas en las primeras jornadas frente a Cádiz (73-75) después de una prórroga, y contra Granada por (48-67). El único triunfo de los anfitriones fue en el partido para decidir el 7º y 8º puesto donde el combinado cordobés se impuso por 77 a 61 a Jaén.
