El Campeonato Mundial de Taekwondo Junior 2024, que se ha celebrado en Chuncheon (Corea), ha contado con 936 deportistas procedentes de 96 países. La Selección Española de Taekwondo ha estado representado por 20 deportistas que han conseguido un total de 5 medallas siendo una de sus mejores actuaciones de los últimos años.
El balance final del combinado nacional ha sido de una medalla de Plata que consiguió el valenciano Jairo Agenjo (-48kg) y cuatro medallas de Bronce alcanzadas por la gallega Noa Romero (-52 kg), los valencianos Ivan Lysenko (+78 kg) y Violeta Díaz (-46 kg) y el andaluz Jesús Pacheco (-78 kg).
Precisamente, hay que destacar la gran actuación en esta competición del deportista de Lucena Jesús Pacheco enfrentándose a algunos de los mejores taekwondistas junior del mundo. En su camino hasta subir al podium, el deportista del Club Koryo Lucena ganó a los representantes de Alemania, Egipto y Jordania mientras que el oponente de Polonia lo apartó de la gran final.
Esta medalla de bronce supone un importante reconocimiento al trabajo que viene desarrollando Jesús Pacheco en los últimos años y que le augura un futuro prometedor en su carrera deportiva.
