En la mañana del día 4, primer domingo de mayo, a las doce del Ángelus, comenzaba en el templo mayor de la ciudad, San Mateo Apóstol, la función principal del Día de la Virgen con los sones de la Misa del Campo Andaluz, del maestro Villa.
La función ha sido oficiada por el Obispo de Córdoba, Monseñor D. Demetrio Fernández en esta última ocasión como obispo de la Diócesis acompañado del clero local y los sacerdotes lucentinos.
