La Asociación Diabetes Lucena ha instalado una mesa informativa en la Plaza Nueva para realizar pruebas de glucemia con motivo del Día Mundial de la Diabetes.
Según datos oficiales, el número de personas con diabetes se ha incrementado en un 42 por ciento desde 2019, lo que supone que esta enfermedad afecta a uno de cada siete adultos.
El estudio diabet.es desvela que el 13,8 por ciento de los españoles mayores de 18 años tiene diabetes tipo 2, es decir, más de 5,3 millones de personas en nuestro país. Además, la Fundación para la Diabetes destaca que el 43 por ciento del total desconocía que padecía la enfermedad y que este retraso en el diagnóstico podía implicar complicaciones en el 50 por ciento de los casos.
En Lucena, alrededor de 3.000 personas padecen la enfermedad. Desde Diabetes Lucena, este sábado continuarán con las jornadas en torno al Día Mundial de la enfermedad con un desayuno y la conferencia del nutricionista y deportista Dani Hans, denominada “El equilibrio del deportista con diabetes”.
El domingo contarán con una barra solidaria a partir de las 10 de la mañana en la Ciudad Deportiva.
