Este jueves, la Santa Sede anunciará el nombramiento del actual obispo de Astorga como sustituto de don Demetrio Fernández.

Don Demetrio Fernández ya tiene sustituto. Este jueves, la Santa Sede anunciará el nombramiento del actual obispo de Astorga, don Jesús Fernández, como nuevo obispo de Córdoba. El prelado leonés, de 69 años, es el obispo responsable de Cáritas, y presidente de la Comisión Episcopal de Pastoral Social y miembro de la Comisión Permanente.

Jesús Fernández González (Selga de Ordás, León, 15 de septiembre de 1955) cursó estudios en el seminario menor y mayor de León. Fue ordenado sacerdote el 29 de junio de 1980. Posteriormente obtuvo la Licenciatura en Filosofía por la Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (1990-1992), donde ha realizado así mismo los cursos de Doctorado en esta materia.
