La ciudad de Lucena ha registrado un aumento en su población, según los últimos datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE). La cifra de habitantes ha pasado de 42.813 a 43.086, superando así por primera vez en la historia la franja de los 43.000 habitantes. Este incremento sitúa a Lucena como una de las pocas ciudades de la provincia que logra crecer en población.
El alcalde de Lucena, Aurelio Fernández, ha valorado de forma muy positiva el incremento del número de habitantes, subrayando que este hito refleja el atractivo de la ciudad como un lugar para vivir, trabajar y disfrutar. En su valoración, ha destacado el papel clave que desempeñan las empresas locales, el comercio de proximidad y la variada oferta de ocio y cultura en este crecimiento

Aurelio Fernández también ha subrayado que superar los 43.000 habitantes es un respaldo al trabajo conjunto de la administración, el tejido empresarial y la ciudadanía en general. “Este crecimiento nos anima a seguir apostando por mejorar los servicios públicos, apoyar a las empresas locales y enriquecer aún más nuestra oferta cultural y de ocio, para que Lucena siga siendo un referente en la provincia”, ha indicado.
